Prior to moving to Singapore, Dev previously practiced in our London office and he specialises in cross- border financing for the shipping sector, covering asset finance, project finance and corporate finance including financing for the LNG and offshore sectors.

His practice also has a strong focus on advising ship finance banks and owners in relation to complex restructuring work including standstill arrangements.

Dev advises an international portfolio of shipping financiers, including equity funds, as well as ship owners across Asia and Europe.

Dev also advises on the more commercial side of shipping matters such as chartering arrangements and sale and purchase transactions.

Highlight matters:

  • Advising a Norwegian bank on four syndicated facilities in excess of US$1 billion including junior loans, amendments to swap arrangements, restructuring of the security package and complex inter-creditor issues.
  • Advising a blue chip Greek ship owner on debt financing for its fleet.
  • Advising NORD LB on a work-out involving a number of facilities (both bilateral and syndicated) to a defaulting owner including enforcement of security and warehousing structures.
