Jamila has over 15 years of experience practicing shipping law in London and Athens. Her clients include leading ship owners, operators, charterers, managers, insurers and oil and gas traders. Jamila’s primary focus is on dry shipping work, with a specialisation advising on all types of disputes arising from commercial transactions and contracts, including ship sale and purchase and newbuilding agreements, charterparties, MOAs and bills of lading. She also acts in international trade disputes arising from contracts for the sale and purchase of commodities and the movement of goods.

Her substantial experience in the area of admiralty includes representing clients in cargo claims, marine casualties, collisions, groundings and salvage. She represents clients in LMAA and international arbitrations, as well as before the Commercial and Admiralty Courts.

Jamila has an expertise in advising on distressed situations, the corporate rehabilitation and restructuring of shipping companies, and the management of associated risks. Her non-contentious experience includes representing clients in a wide range of shipping transactions and the drafting and negotiating of shipping contracts, in particular sale and purchase and newbuilding agreements.
