Marie is a partner in the employment team, with 27 years post qualification experience. Before joining Gordon Dadds in April 2014, she was a Partner in Booth and Blackwell, Kingsford Stacey and Head of Employment in Davenport Lyons.

Marie spends 100% of her time dealing with employment law matters; she is a trusted advisor with an established reputation and ability to deliver results for clients using her excellent strategic and legal skills. She has considerable commercial acumen and is very approachable. She advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters, principally working with employers and senior executives.

She also advises on partnership issues as well as the full range of employment law including business restructures and reorganisations (including large scale redundancy exercises, outsourcing and TUPE), unfair dismissal, team moves, enforcing restrictive covenants, handling dismissals and negotiating settlement agreements across a number of sectors (including Financial Services and Professional Practices), breach of contract, and a range of day-to-day employment matters such as disciplinary and grievance procedures, managing performance and sickness absence.

Marie has particular expertise in complex discrimination claims involving race, sex, disability and religion. Furthermore, she advises in relation to child protection and diversity issues in the work place; plus she delivers bespoke training to HR and line managers.

Marie is a Trustee for a number of charities and regularly speaks on radio and television.

Her clients include: religious institutions and charities; retail, fashion and leisure establishments, including clubs; corporate entities and SMEs; media, PR and publishing organisations.
