Nick joined Gordon Dadds in 2014 from Davenport Lyons. After reading PPE at Oxford and studying Law at Newcastle Polytechnic, Nick began his legal training at a small 3 partner firm in Twickenham, where he was also an active member of the local rowing club, before joining Harbottle & Lewis on qualification as a solicitor.

Nick is now Head of the firm’s Dispute Resolution Department and when not managing the department, his focus is chiefly on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, with an emphasis on media related disputes, reputation management and human rights.

He has extensive experience of matters concerning civil fraud and also acts in a wide range of litigation matters, usually for the private client side rather than the institutional side.

As a qualified Solicitor Advocate, Nick is authorised to exercise rights of audience in the High Court in all proceedings and in other courts, up to The Supreme Court in civil proceedings.

In the past few years Nick has acted in a multi-million pound unfair prejudice proceeding in Gibraltar, another multi-million pound joint-venture property investment dispute concerning business interests in Morocco and an international racketeering dispute involving New York, Switzerland, Israel and Lichtenstein.

  • Appearing before Lord Justice Neuberger as a Solicitor Advocate in the Court of Appeal on a Civil Restraint appeal and winning the appeal with only three words needing to be spoken, in view of the quality of the written skeleton argument.
  • Acting for the late Dudley Moore in an unpleasant dispute with the BBC over an Omnibus television programme and securing important changes to the programme about the man and his great musical talent, before it was broadcast and licensed worldwide.
